Biography
Ching Yao Fong is a distinguished Professor of Physics at the University of California, Davis campus. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) and the Institute of Physics, UK. He was elected as the Vice Chair (2005) and served as the Chair (2007) of APS, California-Nevada Section. In 2008, he was selected by APS as one of their Outstanding Referees. He was a Distinguished Visiting Scholar offered by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Distinguished Lecturer at Bilkent University, Turkey. He also serves as a Member of the Editorial Board for International Journal of Computational Science and on the Advisory Board for the International Advanced Research in Computer Science. He edited two books and is one of the authors of the book entitled “Half-metallic Materials and Their Propertiesâ€.
Research Interest
Electronic and magnetic properties of condensed matter physics and designing new magnetic materials by first-principles methods.
