Biography
Tetyana V. TORCHYNSKA is Professor of Physics at National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. T.V. Torchynska obtained M.S. degree in Solid State Physics at the National Technical University of Ukraine, Kiev; and Ph. D (1978) and Habilitation (1991) Doctor degrees in Physics and Mathematics at Institute of Semiconductor Physics at National Academy of Sciences, Kiev, Ukraine. T.V. Torchynska is the author of over 400 research articles in the scientific areas: the optical investigations of nanocrystals, quantum wires and quantum dots of the great variety of semiconductors of groups IV, III-V and II-VI for the application in optoelectronics, biology and medicine. She is the author of the monographs “Mechanisms of Degradation of III-V Semiconductor Light-Emitting Diodes and Lasersâ€, “Harwood Academic Publisherâ€, 1997, and “Nanocrystals and quantum dots of group IV semiconductors†American Scientific Publisher, 2010; 20 book chapters and 14 patents, used in Electronic Industry, awarded by the National Ukraine Prize in Science and Technique (1995), the medals “Inventor USSRâ€(1988) and “80-ty Anniversary of National Academy of Science of Ukraine†(1998).
