Nate Newman serves as the Lawrence Professor of Solid State Sciences and is a faculty member in the Materials Program at Arizona State University. Dr. Michael Roth is a computational Physicist and Professor and Chair at Northern Kentucky University’s Department of Physics, Geology and Engineering Technology. Dr. Roth has numerous publications and presentations in the field of dynamics and surface phase transitions of atomic and molecular systems adsorbed onto graphene and graphite. Other interests include classical astrophysical simulations of planetary formation as well as Material Point Method simulations of impact and material stress and failure.

Supriyo Bandyopadhyay is Commonwealth Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor of Physics at Virginia Commonwealth University where he directs the Quantum Device Laboratory. Research in this laboratory has been frequently featured in the national and international media for groundbreaking advances in optics, electronics, nanoscale self-assembly, spintronics and computing paradigms. Prof. Bandyopadhyay is the author or co-author of over 300 scientific publications, co-author of some 20 book chapters, and has written two textbooks, one of which is the only textbook in spintronics. He has also given over 100 invited, keynote and plenary talks at workshops, universities and international conferences across four continents. Prof. Bandyopadhyay serves or has served on the editorial boards of twelve international journals and was an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer during the period 2002-2011. He is a recipient of the Virginia Commonwealth University Distinguished Scholarship award, the highest award for scholarship given by the university to one faculty member every year. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Electrochemical Society, the Institute of Physics, the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Matteo Tonezzer received his PhD degree “cum laude” in Physics at the University of Trento (Italy) in 2011. He won the Young Scientist Award from the European Materials Research Society (EMRS) and worked in research centers in France (ESRF), Brazil (UFMG), Vietnam (HUST), Italy (INFM) and USA (GeorgiaTech). He currently works for IMEM in the Italian National Research Council, authored more than twenty papers on international journals, is reviewer for 25 international peer-review journals, editor of international peer-review journals, organizer and chairman of international conferences. His main area of interest concerns the sensing properties of nanostructured organic and inorganic materials.

Mukul Chandra Paul is a principal scientist (Associate professor) at the Fiber Optics and Photonics Division, Central Glass & Ceramic research Institute, Jadavpur, Kolkata-32 (INDIA) where he has been employed as a Scientist since 1997. He obtained his MSc (Inorganic Chemistry) with honours from University of Burdwan and his PhD degree in Fiber Optics from the Jadavpur University in 2003. His research work was focused on doping of rare-earths specifically Er and Yb into different nano-engineered hosts such as ZrO2 and Y2O3 as well as Ag and Bi metal doped silica based core glass of optical preform through solution doping technique followed by MCVD process for making of fiber optic based devices such as fiber laser and optical amplifier. His research work also focused in the field of development of various type of optical preforms for making of specialty optical fiber based device and component such as development of gain-flattened Er doped fiber (EDF) for use in C-band optical amplifier, development of suitable photosensitive optical fibers such as GeO2 doped , GeO2-B2O3 doped, Cladding mode suppressed(CMS) fibers for writing Bragg-grating to be used as temperature sensor, gain-flattening filter etc. In 2005 he was awarded the BOYSCAST Fellowship from department of Science and Technology (DST). He also awarded for CSIR Technology Award - 2012 (Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, India) for “Development of completely packaged commercial-grade C-band Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) for CATV and Telecom Networks”. He was Awarded for DST-UKIERI Award-2013 to initiate joint collaborative research work on Active multicore components for next generation optical communications and sensing” with Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh , UK. Recently received CSIR Technology Award-2015 as a group member for the Category of Innovation to develop “Completely packaged all-fiber supercontinuum light source” He is a member of Optical Society of America, American ceramic society, IEEE and life member of Material Research Society of India and Indian Ceramic Society. He is also working as “Adjunct Professor” at Jiangsu University, China. Prof. Mishra has pursued PhD in Chemistry from Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, Delhi, India. In 2006, he moved to the University of Free State, South Africa for Postdoctoral studies in the area of composites/nanocomposites.
